Award winning
Scottish based Film-maker, Ro J Goodwin, will release
his anti-incinerator protest song entitled “It Was Madness” 28
September, 2009. “It Was Madness” is being released to
coincide with Global No-Burn Action Day and the Scottish No-Burn
Action Day and will go on sale on i-tunes and via.....(CD locally?)
Ro will give a live performance of his debut single outside the
Scottish Parliament in
Edinburgh
on Thursday 1 October at 1pm where he will join Scottish Communities
gathering to mark No-Burn Action Day.
Ro’s self combusting song is a folk/rock song inspired by the
campaign he successfully helped to fight in his hometown of
Invergordon in the Scottish Highlands. When a household rubbish
burner was proposed for the town Ro put pen to paper and plectrum to
string and came up with some truly impassioned lyrics, and a
memorable folk tune likened to ‘
Cat
Stevens’ with A Cause’.
“In my younger days I wrote a little and played in a band, and
this song just came along and virtually wrote itself. We know
from previews that communities around the world will be downloading
this song, and using it to convey their message for years to come
but we are aiming to light a fire under the Great British public,
and targeting the charts!” said Ro.

Lyrics
(Needless to say it's copyright and mustn't be used to raise money
without the express written permission of its owner.)
VERSE 1:
In this world of insanity
We just need a little purity
We are sick with pollution
And we don’t want their solution
We’re not asking for charity
All we want is some clarity
Burning waste for the sake of wealth
Makes no sense if you lose you health
BRIDGE: If and when you get old the story’s already been told
CHORUS:
That it was Madness to burn our waste
It was Madness it was done in haste
It was Madness to burn our waste
It was a sad, sad waste of our resources
It was a sad, sad waste of our resources
VERSE 2:
When you burn certain articles
The smoke contains nano-particles
Scrubbing the air only makes it worse
They get in your lungs and they’re a curse
What are we leaving to our children?
A poison potion in a leaky cauldron?
It’s killing babies and the Human Race
Do I need to say it’s a damned disgrace?
Repeat Bridge and Chorus
VERSE 3:
We must give up incineration
And be the clean generation
We gotta reduce, recycle and reuse
The Earth’s not ours for us to abuse
Looking back on all of Man’s mistakes
We’ve all seen what a mess He makes
So now it’s time to apply the brakes
And save ourselves a lot of heartaches
Repeat Bridge and Chorus
Madness
Madness
It was Madness to burn our waste
It was a sad, sad waste of our resources
It was a sad, sad waste of our resources
It was a sad, sad waste of my resources
It was a sad, sad waste of your resources
